Bruce MacGregor opening the MacGregors Gathering show on Friday 17th January at Celtic Connections 2025. This was the first night of the show, held in the concert hall of the National Piping Centre in Glasgow, Scotland, and playing with Bruce were Cailean Mckerron on piano and Ali Duncan on guitar.
Bruce MacGregor is one of the most influential musicians in recent Scottish folk history. He founded Blazin' Fiddles back in 1998, who became, one of Scotland’s most celebrated folk groups. As well as performing around the world, Bruce runs the award winning MacGregors Bar in Inverness, famous for its brilliant traditional music and authentic Highland experience.
MacGregors Gathering is a new project, launched at Celtic Connections, Glasgow in January 2025, which aims to share that traditional experience with audiences all over Scotland and beyond. Bruce's passion for the history and culture of the Highlands is also helping inspire a new generation of musicians and lovers of traditional music worldwide.
