Kadala Parippu Payasam is a Kerala style kheer or dessert made out of chana dal (also called split chickpea or bengal gram). It's cooked in jaggery syrup and coconut milk. Served especially on festivals like Vishu and Onam or at the end of a Sadhya (South Indian feast).
INGREDIENTS:
Chana dal 1 cup
Jaggery 300 gms
Coconut milk extracted using 1 coconut
Salt 1/4th tsp
Cardamon and Sugar powder mix 2 tsp
Ghee 6-8 tsp
Few Cashews
Few Dry grapes
