Helleborus niger is in bloom just hours before the snowstorm! No worries, this very hardy Helleborus species is used to flowering in cold temperatures. For us it is one of the earliest Hellebores to flower, beginning in late December/early January. The flowers of H. niger are naturally outfacing and clean white. Old foliage can be trimmed back after the new foliage and flowers start to emerge. Zone 3a-8b.
