Day 2 of our hike to Rae Lakes Basin. We originally planned to hike the loop, but for health and safety reasons, we decided to adjust our itinerary and make Upper Rae Lake our goal, returning the way we came. That meant a short Day 2 with the goal to day hike to Rae Lakes Basin the following day.
So, not ideal but since this was the first time attempting this loop and by far the most ambitious hike we had undertaken to this point, we still considered it a successful trip and just enjoyed it.
