At the coast of the wild Costa Vicentina national park in Portugal is a particularly emblematic rock named Pedra Agulha sticking out of the Atlantic ocean. The rock is named Pedra Agulha, or Needle Rock, for it's sharp dark shape. It is situated next to the famous viewpoint village of Arrifana. It's distinct black pointy shape is very different than the yellow limestone rocks across the nearby Algarve and typical of the Costa Vicentina coastline. On this particular day were the largest waves of 2020, caused by a prior ocean storm.
