A veteran Hollywood script consultant, author of the top selling screenwriting book, The Coffee Break Screenwriter, and host of the On the Page Podcast (now in its 16th-year), Pilar Alessandra is known as one of Los Angeles’s leading story instructors.

Pilar has traveled the world teaching screenwriting and television writing to production companies, film schools and festivals in London, Rome, Beijing, Lisbon and Cape Town.

In addition to the regular classes she teaches through On the Page, she’s trained writers at Lena Waithe’s Hillman Grad program, taught classes at Disney and DreamWorks, trains writers through NBC’s Universal Launch Program and the CBS Paramount Writing Program and has been a pitch coach for the producers at the MIA Film Market in Rome since 2020.

Pilar’s greatest accomplishment is the achievement of her students, many of whom gained success on series such as House of the Dragon, Homeland, Dear White People, Grey’s Anatomy, Silicon Valley, and The Chi and have sold feature films and pitches to Netflix, Sony, Warner Bros. and other major studios.
