Sketchbook Safe Zone: A Place to Hone Your Mixed Media Craft

I’ve realized that even in my sketchbook, I have a tendency to try to make something beautiful, but at the expense of learning something new.

The more our brains can learn in a stress-free, no performance sort of environment, the more we can grow and become proficient. If I am interested in collage, then I have to have a space in which I can learn about collage and try new materials and make new combinations without caring what it looks like. What do I like? What do I not like? What affect does this have? How do these materials work together and how could I use that to convey what I want to express?

This is the fertile ground out of which my ideas can be born and my confidence can grow.
