We reached Rara lake on second day from Martadi Bajura. Here is some description about rara lake.
Rara Lake, known as the “Queen of Lakes,” is the largest and one of the most beautiful freshwater lakes in Nepal. Located in Mugu district within the high mountains of the Karnali Province, the lake lies at an altitude of about 2,990 meters above sea level. It is surrounded by the pristine wilderness of Rara National Park, which is home to rare wildlife species such as the red panda, Himalayan black bear, musk deer, and various species of birds.
The lake stretches approximately 5 kilometers in length and 3 kilometers in width, with crystal-clear blue water that changes color with the movement of sunlight. Dense pine, spruce, and rhododendron forests encircle the lake, adding to its natural charm. Snow-capped peaks, including Chuchemara Hill, offer stunning reflections on the calm surface of the lake, creating a breathtaking landscape.
Rara Lake is not only a natural treasure but also a peaceful destination for trekkers, nature lovers, and photographers. Its serene environment, unspoiled surroundings, and cultural richness of the local communities make it one of Nepal’s most enchanting and memorable places.
