Kineszt's POV: • PSO2 NGS - Retem Time Extension Duo S-Rank
This run has no business existing, as we had 7 minutes before the quest reset and a new augment makes this quest trivial to complete before it came back, and several early waves went pretty poorly with my worst wave 5 ever (I attached a good wave 5 at the end to show it's not a fluke), but somehow this run completed. It took about 4 hours of planning and 2 hours of pure execution to get a clear. I'm not aware of any duo clears of this quest, so let's make like a youtube commenter and claim FIRST
The crux of the strategy revolves around saving a barrel that spawns in wave 4 to use on the Elimineda on wave 10 which deals about 26k damage and causes an elemental down which leads into a physical down. Without that chain down, and saving the attack speed barrel to use in the last 30 seconds instead of the first, this quest wouldn't be doable.
Wave 7 proved the biggest problem to solve as the Val Zagga is extremely tanky and prone to slip n sliding all the way to said barrel and making it very uncomfortable to do any damage as barrels will explode if you so much as look at it with killing intent (literally I had it blow up when I used stylish roll arts when I wasn't in range, and it just exploded out of nowhere; this was a problem in Blazing Battle too where trying to use Wulfen Raid off of barrels would sometimes cause them to explode even though you were nowhere near hitting them). This is compounded by the fact that we must split up and there is no way to drag the mobs together; Volt Lemnas is way too slow to walk over to the other side, and there are a lot of immobile enemies on the other side. The strategy still isn't solid, but it boils down to putting a hard focus on boss damage while still dealing enough scratch damage to the 4 Arnz so that everything dies at roughly the same time.
The rest of the waves are largely self explanatory as they present packs of enemies in ways that are obvious in how to deal with; the question was just who was going where.
Wave 5 went horrific this run, as I arrived with no hail of bullets (I used it in wave 3 without thinking, that's how far back the mistake goes), so my script was not performable, and I started doing moves that weren't hitting the weak spot. It can be done so much cleaner, and I demonstrate in a post-video clip how it should be done.
As for class setup, we were both originally Gu/Sl, but that caused Elimineda to constantly rotate as aggro would bounce between us both as the person with Long Range Advantage active would get aggro over the other person, constantly flip flopping. We both went Gu/Ra for the long range killing potential of the grenade and the pp restoration of Spread Shot, but I kept stealth strike on while Kin turned it off so he could tank at the front of Elimineda and be in charge of dragging most bosses to where they're needed.
