Locarno, situated in the southern part of Switzerland in the Canton of Ticino. Border to Italy and only an hour away by train from Como.
This paradise is located at the far north of Lake Maggiore. Locarno is known for its beautiful lake promenade, palm trees, gardens, fancy cafes and the old city center. Locarno is the city with most sunshine in Switzerland.
One of the most popular places and a must visit is the Sanctuary of Madonna del Sasso. This Sanctuary is situated on a hill, overlooking Locarno and be reached by a funicular.
