Today we take a walk through the Australian forest looking for fungi, making the most of the winter weather.
Winter is the perfect time to go looking for fungi and the karri forests of southwestern Australia are a wonderful setting. The cool wet conditions are perfect for all kinds of colourful and amazing species.
On this short wander around the Quinninup lake I find many of the species common this time of year. There were so many I had to limit myself to the large and conspicuous ones. Perhaps I'll put on the macro lens and look closer for the abundant smaller species next time.
