Sonny Moore (Skrillex) Interview | Ryan Minic, Ryan's Rock Show (2009)

In a March 2009 interview with Ryan Minic of Ryan’s Rock Show, Sonny Moore, today known as Skrillex, shared his life story. Moving from Los Angeles to San Francisco at age three, he later attended a boarding school in Barstow and returned to LA at 12. Moore connected with people through AOL chat rooms and MySpace, skipped traditional high school, and was deeply influenced by punk and hardcore music. Supported by his parents, he joined From First to Last at 16 after meeting the band members online. Learning he was adopted at 16 led to a rebellious phase and touring. Despite challenges, Moore feels grateful for his experiences and proud of his musical achievements.
