Running your pressure washer without water? You’re doing real damage.
In this quick video, I explain why it’s critical to always hook up a water supply or remove the pump before test-running an engine.
Triplex plunger pumps depend on water for cooling and lubrication. Without it, your pump will overheat, fry seals and pistons, and be toast in under a minute.
🔧 Manufacturers like AR North America, CAT Pumps, and General Pump all warn against running pumps dry — and they advise against staying in bypass more than 30–60 seconds.
