Meghan Harris is a self-taught R user that is a data integration specialist at the University at Buffalo and the Erie County government of New York. Meghan’s work focuses on integrating opioid-related data sources and creating custom reports, dashboards, and solutions using the R programming language. In Meghan’s spare time, Meghan creates generative art in the R programming language, called #Rtistry.

➡️ About the workshop
If you’ve ever seen pictures of generative art made in R and wondered if you could ever create art like that, the answer is “Yes.” In this introductory presentation, Meghan went briefly go over the basics of creating generative art in R (Rtistry) using the #ggplot2 package. This presentation went over the common geoms (geometries), aesthetics, layering, and functions that can be used for Rtistry creation. The presentation was concluded with a live code review session of one Rtistry pieces.
