In this video, I show you some "root, fifth, third" arpeggio patterns. They are really common on the cello and violin. You can either use string skipping (like Eric Johnson), or try the Allan Holdsworth technique of playing the fifth and third over two strings. Hence, we are effectively playing sixths over two strings but against a different bass note. One you have them down, they should give you many new options.
