Footage of the aftermath of the military coup in Nigeria which brought to power a Major General Johnson Aguiyi-Ironsi.
There are scenes from the Northern region, Eastern region, Western region and Lagos. This includes brief footage of 3 of the military governors appointed by Ironsi: Major Hassan Katsina of the Northern region, Lieutenant Colonel Emeka Ojukwu of the Eastern region and Lieutenant Colonel David Ejoor of the Mid-West.
Seated next to Major Katsina is Major Chukwuma Nzeogwu, one of the leaders of the abortive coup of January 15th. Nzeogwu, who took control of much of the Northern region later surrendered himself.
