Bulaklakan is a traditional Filipino dance that originates from the province of Bulacan, named for its abundance of flowers. This dance dedicates itself to the Virgin Mary performed usually during May as part of celebration for Holy week. The dance mimics the act of making and presenting floral garlands — a common practice during religious festivals. Handcrafted by the members and leading officers of this dance, the arches displayed are a vibrant testament to tradition, unity, and the shared artistry that brings the celebration to life.
Franklin High School’s Tinikling Dance Club is a cultural dance group that specializes in traditional Philippine Folk Dance. Established in 2008, our club continues to share the beauty of Filipino culture through our dance. We take on various performance opportunities, hoping to honor Philippine tradition through our fulfilling and energizing dances. Towards the end of our school year, we host our annual Make A Change. All proceeds from our 2025 event went to Kabataan Alliance’s Kapit Bisig Relief campaign, aiding affected by environmental calamities through NAFCON.
