Violent Protests Outside Dublin 'Asylum Seeker' Hotel | 10 News

A second night of protests in Dublin descended into violence outside of a hotel in the Citywest area used to house asylum seekers.

The protests were sparked by an alleged sexual assault of a 10-year-old girl in the vicinity of the hotel in the early hours of October 21.

A man has been arrested and is in custody over the alleged assault, with suggestions within the community that he is a resident of the hotel.

Bricks and fireworks were thrown at police by protesters, with Garda (Irish police) Commissioner Justin Kelly condemning the actions of the violent demonstrators.
