Dr. Huiyao Wang dialogue with Croatian FM Gordan Grlić Radman on Croatia's role in EU-Asia relations

On July 22, H.E. Gordan Grlić Radman, Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of the Republic of Croatia, delivered a speech at CCG’s Beijing Office on the theme “Croatia as a Mediterranean and Central European connection between the European Union and Asia: Perspectives for cooperation with China.” The event also included a conversation with CCG’s Founder and President, Dr. Wang Huiyao, and a Q&A session with the audience.

H.E. Gordan Grlić Radman, born in 1958, is the Croatian Minister of Foreign and European Affairs with a strong academic and diplomatic background. He earned his PhD in 2007 from the University of Zagreb’s Faculty of Political Science, focusing on neutrality and the new European security architecture. Since 2019, he has served as Croatia’s Foreign Minister and previously held ambassadorial posts in Germany and Hungary. He also has extensive experience in multilateral organizations, including serving as President of the Danube Commission.

This dialogue explored Croatia’s strategic role as a Mediterranean and Central European gateway connecting the EU and Asia, focusing on opportunities for deeper cooperation with China in diplomacy, trade, culture, and regional security. Key topics included strengthening economic ties, advancing connectivity projects, fostering cultural exchanges, and addressing shared challenges like climate change and sustainable development.
