In this video, I vaguely describe what the Motorola MDC PTT ID is. Reason I say vaguely is because I cannot hit the repeater on my xpr6550 handheld to show you the ID on my xpr4550 mobile. You can set the MDC tone ID for:
Before Transmission
End Of Transmission
Both Before & After Transmission
Or simply turn it off.
I'm not sure what models of Motorola have this keyup ID, but I know the XPR4550 & XPR6550 are both capable of the MDC ID key up tone.
Using Motorola's Programming Software, MotoTRBO v16 CPS, you can program numbers or rather an ID to popup on the other users Motorola. If you do not have a Motorola, chances are you'll hear this key up tone or key up chirp right before the beginning of a transmission.
