i did NOT expect to get so emotional watching Sinners *movie reaction*

Today, I'm watching Ryan Coogler's Sinners (2025) movie for the first time. Starring Michael B Jordan, Delroy Lindo, Wunmi Mosaku, Hailee Steinfeld, Jack O'Connell, Miles Caton, and more. It details the story of twins returning hometown to Clarksdale, Mississippi, in 1932 to open a juke joint. Smoke and Stack go around town to recruit the help and patronage of the town where they grew up. They have Sammie 'Preacher Boy' and Delta Slim play blues music for the juke joint. Annie, Grace, and Bo Chow provide the refreshments. Cornbread as the bouncer. They had guests like Mary and Pearline, as well as the uninvited vampire Remmick and his two new vampire klan who want to kidnap and use Sammie to see his Irish relatives again. Sammie is said to be able to bridge spirits together through his blues music. People who have the ability to do this are called: fili by the Irish, firekeepers by the Choctaw Indians, and griots in West Africa. Coogler did a beautiful job connecting the past, present, and future through music, history, religion, and spirituality in this horror musical period piece.
