Once grounded during a violent storm in 2018, the Hephaestus was intentionally sunk in 2022 to become part of Malta’s expanding collection of artificial reefs and technical wreck dives.


With visibility revealing the full structure and remarkably fast-growing marine life, this dive offered a stunning look at how quickly a shipwreck can transform into a living ecosystem.
