Mega Man X - Boomer Kuwanger (Mega Man Zero Style Cover/Remix)

Long time no see! As an apology, have a quick banger and a small channel update.

This one started as a cover since my brain decided to play the original on loop in my head for an entire work shift (love ADHD btw) and I thought "...okay, maybe just one quick cover", and then I kept changing things...and adding backing parts...and eventually I just decided to full send a cover/remix hybrid. This isn't even in my top 5 favorite songs from X1, I just had this idea and went through with it.
Tried some fun stuff like instrument mixing and, my favorite new toy to mess with, the samples I got from the ACTUAL Zero games instead of the Zero Collection. Now I get cool stuff like the Zero 2 guitar riff from Power Bom and reverse crash cymbals, which I used in this obviously. Really hope you guys enjoy this one, and let me know if you want more of the X1 OST! Unironically wanna do other tracks and see what I can come up with.

Anyway, sorry the channel has been quiet for close to two years at this point, got some life updates to explain the hiatus and some future stuff with the channel:

Graduated college since the last remix upload, so I wanted to spend time working on remixes, but...long story short, overall burnout and being WAY too critical on myself when learning music sucks. ADHD and perfectionism don't mix well, but I'm not gonna make excuses for a new hobby LOL
Finally have FL Studio instead of LMMS, it's SO much easier to work with and I can actually add vibrato and pitch bends to instruments. MyNewSoundtrack taught me some of the basics, rest is learning through experience
After I uploaded the last remix, I wasn't really happy with it after a few weeks (even debated delisting it a few times tbh). Whole remix definitely felt a bit uncoordinated, but granted it was only my second remix and I shouldn't be too hard on myself. Plus, the video still got some positive reception and views, so...idk
Like I said in the last video, I'm still trying to learn my own style without forcing myself to study music theory, so composing freestyle has lead to a lot of dead ends with remixes. Since the last remix, I've made like 7 different remixes with custom stuff that hit a point of "where do I go from here?" until I moved onto a new song to remix. Bouncing between them helps, and most are between 60% and 70% done, but I actually want to finish them. Next upload won't take as long, promise
While I don't want to just slap a soundfont onto an original song and call it a day (most of the time I do that as a draft or for initial ideas), learning your own style takes time and a lot of experimentation. I don't know what parts are gonna sound good until I actually sequence them and listen a day or two later. As such, my goal for this cover was moreso to see what I'd change or add to the song rather than compose entirely new parts, with my long term goal being able to create more original stuff for future remixes. So, after sequencing out the original, I just did whatever I felt like adding while showing it to friends. They're absolutely my rocks when it comes to pushing me forward, appreciate y'all.

With all that in mind, sorry for the lack of uploads. Learning the difference between "I shouldn't rush myself to learn music in order to finally upload remixes" and "I should push myself to practice/learn music since it's something I WANT to do" is a hard mix, especially now that I'm back to a full time job with not nearly as much free time as I had in college ironically. Priority is quality over quantity, so I thank those that are subscribed for the long run.
