Greetings, fellow Wayfarers! While on a recent road trip to Los Angeles in November 2018, we found ourselves taking an unplanned wildfire-related detour east towards the Mojave Desert. Not ones to squander an opportunity when it presents itself (however it chooses to do so), we were able to tour not one but two dead malls, Palm Springs Mall and Indio Fashion Center (also known as the Fiesta Mall).
We were only able to capture original footage of the outside of the Palm Springs Mall, as it's been closed for over a decade, but yet to be demolished or repurposed. Indio Fashion Center (near where the Coachella music festival is held) proved to be a better bet, as we were able to enter and tour it in its full glory on a Saturday night.
If you happen to find yourself out there someday, we also suggest checking out the Cabazon Dinosaurs exhibit off the Seminole Drive exit on the 10 Freeway. Tell them Large Marge sent you!
