The good thing about collaborative law is that we can craft an agreement or a settlement that meet the particular needs of your family. In fact, we can do more for your family than the court system can ever do. Our judges are good. They have been doing this for a very long time, but they are limited to what North Carolina law and statutes are. They follow their guidelines.

In collaborative law, we don't follow their guidelines. In fact, we believe that their guidelines are not effective in settling your case. We believe we can do a better job, and we believe that we can pull in professionals that the court cannot do to help us help you and your family.

The way that the collaborative law process begins is the attorneys meet with the parties, you, and we all sign a collaborative law contract. That contract says that we will proceed respectfully. Everyone will have their say. We will proceed in a manner that is open and honest, where every party puts their cards on the table and we deal with what we are dealt.
