● What Is Competitive Mario Kart Wii?
There's two Primary formats, one being Clan Wars and the other being Mogi which I'm currently participating in for all of these videos. Mogi is the SoloQ equivalent in MKW which has gained a ton of popularity starting back in 2017. There's an entire ELO system that revolutionized the way we played the game. To keep it simple, 12 players of similar skill queue up into an event then they choose which format they would like to play. Those formats are FFA, 2v2v2v2v2v2, 3v3v3v3, 4v4v4, and 6v6. All the players in the room vote for whatever format they want to play and whatever has the most votes a bot will randomize the players in the lineup pairing you with anyone in it. When it comes to teams there's no skill based match making, only the room itself. After this you battle it out over 12 races and whichever team scores the most will gain ELO weighted by how good the fellow players in the room are. ● Additional Information.
Tiers signify how good a room is. Unlike games like CS2 and Valorant the higher number the Tier is the better the players are. (i.e Tier-8 is the highest level of play possible based off of MMR)
Calling is allowed but cross teaming isn't. You are able to call with people on others teams which you might see frequently when I hangout with people like Mura and Logan because I just like to chill with them. As long as you're not actively helping each other out it's fine.
I record these events on stream about 95% of the time. I enjoy streaming a lot and I've recently adapted this Youtube schedule which enables more of you guys to find out about this wonderful game. I am very backlogged and as of now on 1/18/2025 I'm about 30 Mogis ahead of where we are on the videos. If you want to watch more up to date I consider watching the streams but there's also a good chance any video I upload is a Mogi you haven't seen. Most of the time I'll play multiple events in a day which stocks up on footage for Youtube.
Lastly remember that I'm still taking this game very seriously, I want to be Rank 1 on the ladder for the same reasons people want to be Rank 1 in anything. I will get mad, I will get happy, but it's all supposed to be good fun. This game as a whole is very infuriating and when you add extra states it makes it very stressful so raw emotions tend to come out. I hope you can understand it and see that I'm just mad in the moment. Anything I say towards a player stays on the track and I have no issue with any of the people I play against. I respect that everyone wants to pursue a game with such depth 17 years after being made.
