Leading up to Navaratri, I am reminded of Sita Kalyanam, a production we presented back in May. Listen to Vinay speak about an immortal shloka from the Ramayana as said by Janaka during the Kalyanam of Seetha and Rama. Navaratri is a celebration of the power of the feminine energy and I felt this shloka and following composition, a masterpiece of Saint Thyagaraja in Kambhoji truly embody this feeling.
The day was unforgettable for all of us. The heavy downpours meant that some of the audience were on stage with us and the energy was surreal. Moments artistes crave for. Despite having much difficulty with the video and some distractions as well, we've tried to bring to you these moments. Hope you like it!
