As a young learner of the guitar I had many influences to look up to and aspire to be. Kirk Hammett was one of those influences to my playing style that has stuck with me. I think because of the fact I listened to Metallica a lot and because of the use of pentatonic scales and the combination of melody, speed and repetition through the scales. Obviously he dive a lot deeper into the scales than just pentatonic but despite a couple of notes this weeks set of licks from Fade To Black are mainly pentatonic repeating patterns.
