High schoolers have all kinds of summer jobs! But 17-year-old Maximilian "Max" Minden's summer "job," or paid internship, is a little different. The Oakville High School student spent his summer at the bench, contributing to cutting-edge chemistry research alongside PhD, graduate, and undergraduate students at Washington University in St. Louis.
Max spent 10 weeks observing and participating in the Sadtler Research Group's laboratories at WashU.
Bryce Sadtler, PhD, associate professor of chemistry, partnered with the American Chemical Society on a program that sponsors students like Max with paid summer internships.
