Salter air fryer breakdown. Destined for the skip. Can we fix it?

Our Salter model EK5872 or LIDL EK5872LDL air fryer stopped heating on one side. We had a refund so it should have gone to the skip. But surely it's only a thermal fuse failure, how hard can it be to repair that? Quite hard actually. Also compare against the Tower T17151 which we reckon is better.
