President Cyril Ramaphosa has officially launched the first National Convention, with very little mention of those who have chosen to snub the event. There have been a series of organisations and political parties opting to boycott the gathering, citing concerns about where the money to fund it has come from and a failure to allow it to be a citizen-led process.
Meanwhile, our country’s top army general has raised eyebrows over his trip to Iran where he made political and foreign affairs statements. Ramaphosa is expected to have a meeting with SANDF chief Rudzani Maphwanya over this.
