This French educational game, developed by Cryo Interactive and Microfolie's Editions, is quite unknown and the English version was difficult to find even around its release-date back in 1997. I guess because it never found an American distributor.
Treasure Hunter seems to run on Cryo Interactive's Dragon Lore 2 engine, but now with reasonable lip-sync and more animation in scenery when looking around, like waves in the water for example. Another nice detail was in the sound; when looking around, the stereo sound of the sea switches constantly, depending on where you're standing. But the interface in Treasure Hunter feels less intuïtive compared to Dragon Lore 2 and it all works rather cumbersome.
And the most important difference; I don't think Treasure Hunter has an entertaining story to tell. It prefers to be educational without wrapping it in good entertainment. Characters, story, puzzles and environments are all quite dull. You have to prepare the treasure hunts by doing all kind of administrative things, but when it finally comes to treasure hunting, it lets you watch a long cinematic and that's it. But for completeness sake I've chosen to upload it on this channel anyway.

TECHNICAL NOTES
This game was developed for both Windows and DOS. I played the DOS-version (in Dosbox), because it seemed more stable and didn't have any speed-issues compared to the Windows-version.
I found out that the Windows-version is perfectly playable in PCEM when emulating a not too fast machine. If too fast, lip-sync goes berserk.
Sound-hiccups occured in both versions, but less in the DOS-version.
