D&I 1-on-1: Owning Your Own Voice

D&I 1-on-1 is a biweekly webinar series hosted by Jina Etienne. In this episode, she spoke with Jessica “Jess” Nava, Chief Growth Officer, The Moxie Exchange®. As an executive in technology for over 23 years, she has often been the only woman in the room. She learned that being the “only” often made her invisible and came to realize that she needed do things differently to be seen. Jess learned that she needed to show up differently, sharing her intersectional identity more openly. Owning her own voice meant bringing invisible dimensions of her identity, which included race, language and culture, into D&I discussions and initiatives. This experience ignited her passion to be an advocate in the DEIB space and empower people to integrate inclusion and belonging in their day to day.
