Second quick end of lamma i get a look around our new merlo and see the differences in the turbo farmer and our merlo, mostly oil flow changes to benefit us and a comfy seat, will put a seat cover on this one i think!!

We get into bother with the bobcat when it throws down and decides its had enough.

🐄 From City Girl to Dairy Farmer | My Journey into Robotic Milking, Jerseys & Social Media Farming 🌾

Hi, I’m Charlotte Ashley, and in May this year we started milking Jersey cows on two Lely robots here in the beautiful Eden Valley, Cumbria.

Not long ago, I was a total outsider to farming — a city lass who’d tried every office job under the sun (and got the sack from most of them!). After moving to Cumbria in 2009, I fell in love with agriculture, trading spreadsheets for silage and discovering that caring for animals isn’t so different from caring for people.

Together with my husband Roy, we’ve built a family-run dairy farm where we now milk 120 Jerseys, raising around 200 cows & 200 sheep across the farm. What started as a dream has become our daily life — full of challenges, mud, milking, and moments worth sharing.
