The Impossible Mountain. A Four Day Odyssey Into The Remote North West Highlands.

This trip had been planned for a while. I never expected it to take on such a poignancy due to seismic events in my personal life.

Once again I'm exploring the remote North West Highlands. I wander beside burbling waters, I'm climbing up a jagged fissure beside a mountain waterfall. I happen across an ancient castle at sunset, and encounter wild deer as I drive epic roads. But my primary goal was an ascent of the legendary Suilven, a mountain only accessible by a long and winding track.

There's so much more in this journey. A sunset drive through the Kielder forest in Northumbria, a stunning foray into the Northern Pennines before venturing into the majestic Nidderdale area of outstanding natural beauty.

Above all this trip was a pilgrimage. On the back of a truly terrible year I've found peace and comfort in rediscovering my Christian faith having rejected it some 18 years prior.

The segment at the end is me at my most vulnerable. My most raw. I want people to know that whilst we all struggle, there's always something to hope for.
