Hanuman | The Heart of Rama

Namaste! I'm Dr. Robert, and in today's "5ish Minutes with Dr. Robert," we explore the revered figure of Hanuman. 🕉️

Hanuman, also known as Anjaneya (after his mother Anjani), embodies the ultimate heroism (virbhava) and devotion (dasabhava). He is the devoted servant of Rama, always acting according to Rama’s will, and is worshipped as the remover of miseries and obstacles (Sankatamochana). Hanuman is the personification of prana (life force) in the body and the atomic force in the universe, holding everything together with his unwavering focus on Rama.

Vimalananda emphasized worshiping Hanuman by identifying with his mother, Anjani, as Hanuman is deeply devoted to her. A simple yet powerful mantra to honor Hanuman is "Shree Ram Jaya Ram Jaya Jaya Ram," as taught by the saint Samartha Ramdas, who is considered an incarnation of Hanuman.
