Taking the outer two cords from each side, bring them into the middle and complete one square knot. Note: the very outer cords you started with become the middle cords of the square knot.
Position your pot into the center of the ring you just created, adjusting everything so the pot is sitting relatively straight and the middle knot sits half way up the pot’s side.
Gather all the cords underneath the pot and tie them together with the cotton string. (I try to hold the cords with one hand and loop the string around them all twice before pulling it tight in the back and then tying it in a knot)
