This is a simple but important process if you cast your own lead bullets. Lubrication prevents "leading" in your barrel when you fire lead bullets. Leading is the residual build-up of lead inside the barrel which can cause accuracy issues and be difficult to clean. there are many kinds of bullet lubes but I have always used Lee liquid Alox and my gun barrels do not have signs of lead build up so I stick with what works.
