Professional Mechanic Reviews Our Bugatti Chassis… and We’re Not Ready Yet 🫤

Today we have a professional mechanic (Chris Hines) in the shop to take a hard look at the Bugatti chassis. The goal? Pick his brain on what’s needed before we marry the body back onto the frame.

Chad was hoping that Chris could start wiring the chassis before paint, but his advice was clear... the body should be painted and mounted first. He also caught something we missed: the throttle linkage isn’t giving full range, only about ¾ throttle, and we’ll need to fabricate a bracket to properly pull the kickdown for the transmission. At first, it feels like we’re going backwards, but in reality, this is valuable information that will save us major headaches down the line.

Once Chris leaves, it’s all hands on the Bugatti body. We’re sanding down the chipped areas to test if our unconventional repair trick, a paintbrush and high-build primer, actually worked in fixing the rivet damage.

It’s a day of expert advice, unexpected setbacks, and creative problem-solving. This is the real process behind building a $40M Bugatti recreation.
