How to Finish the Back of a Hand Embroidery Hoop Neatly | Embroidery Back Tutorial

In this video, I’ll show you step-by-step how to finish the back of your hand embroidery hoop using felt and a few simple tools. This process is ideal for embroiderers who want to give their finished pieces a clean, professional look—especially when turning your embroidery into wall hangings or handmade gifts.

I start by gluing the excess fabric to the inner side of the plastic hoop using leather glue (also known as contact cement), then trim the folded fabric. Next, I trace a matching circle on felt using a heat-erasable pen and cut it out. Before sewing the felt on, I attach my own brand label laser-engraved on genuine leather. Finally, I hand-stitch the felt circle onto the leftover edge of the fabric to hide the back completely.

This tutorial is best suited for embroidery artists looking to level up their presentation. Whether you're making embroidery hoops for sale, for décor, or simply for a clean finish, this technique is a must-know!
