We're Entering the Disappearing Age

From the origins of Dine' (Navajo) clans to "the disappearance of the people," in this final installment of our series with Dine' historian Anthony Lee, you've got to watch to the very end to hear the powerful message he leaves us with. There's a significant connection of the mesas surrounding Cutter Canyon to the Dine' origin story, but there's also a larger connection to the pueblos and other tribes--both the land itself and the stories told--that reveals a transcendent interconnection between the entire region's tribal communities. This revelation creates a sense of hope, but there's also a sense of dread and urgency as Anthony tells the story of entering the Disappearing Age, an age that begins with the forgetting of Dine' Bizaad (Navajo language).
