As the cameraman on this film about the Falkland Islands shot in 1984 I had the opportunity to visit different parts of the Falklands and meet the people living there. It was a very interesting, if windy, trip but this film is an attempt to explain the history of the islands connection to the UK.
Only two years earlier in 1982 I was filming onboard HMS Endurance for what was supposed to be it's final deployment to the South Atlantic and was caught up in the start of the events that lead to the war when Argentina decided to invade the islands, which they had always claimed were there sovereign territory.
