Jyväskylä: Joulunavaus 2025 / Christmas Season Kick-off, 22.11.2025

Equipment:

Drone: DJI Mini 5 Pro, 4k50, forced 50Hz flicker reduction, D-LOG M, -2 sharpness, -2 NR, MF.

Phone (in-shopping center & most short Kauppakatu clips): iPhone 16 Pro Max shooting in 4k25 LOG.

Main camera: Lumix S5 II, 25p Open Gate, sharpness and NR dialed down, 1/25s shutter speed for maximal light intake and no 50 Hz flickering. Lens:

1, main event: Lumix 50/1.8, MF, f2.2, tripod
2, later events (Church park, Toivola Old Courtyard): Lumix 18/1.8, AF, f1.8 (increased when there was too much light), DJI RS4 gimbal, sometimes some MASSIVE (even -2!) negative exp. comp. Unfortunately, the blue-lit singer group in front of the Western building was even then overexposed in one clip - sorry for that. ("Real" cameras don't use "tricks" (exposure fusion etc.) to have as high a dynamic range as possible. A recent iPhone, particularly in Log, would have rendered the faces without burnout. Nevertheless, it would still have been far inferior to a fullframe camera like the Lumix - for example, skin color is just absolutely disgusting in even well-lit iPhone Log videos. And, of course, in a Lumix footage you won't see exposure truly unprofessional fusion giveaways like badly-rendered cloud moving, unlike in ANY recent, even high-end, iPhone or Pixel, even if you shoot in Log.)

The audio of the Lumix came mostly from the Rode VideoMicro II, except for the light dancers' part, where I used my iPhone's soundtrack instead. (The latter has better frequency response, better suited for music, and is also of course stereo.)
