In Episode One, we’ll meet Australians from diverse backgrounds facing a range of challenges – from unemployment to addiction and a lack of housing – in areas of Brisbane and Melbourne.

In Episode Two, we witness the personal impact of the decline in Australia’s manufacturing industry, with the closure of the Ford plant in Melbourne’s Broadmeadows. After 22 years at Ford, factory worker Nick faces an uncertain future as he tries to find new employment before his redundancy payment runs out.

In Episode Three, Michael finds himself at war with his brother as they try to deal with their mother’s will and other legal matters. In amongst all this, Michael faces homelessness after missing a crucial rent deadline.

In Episode Four, we meet proud Inala resident Sue. At 55 years of age and suffering multiple health issues, she’s been told she has four weeks to leave her home. With little money, and a growing public housing waiting list, she faces the very real prospect of homelessness.

In Episode Five, Jarrod and his two eldest children find themselves literally on the streets of south-west Brisbane. They have no home to go to, and not being Australian citizens, they’re struggling to get emergency assistance. As another night looms they’re running out of options.In the series final of Struggle Street, Michael has a financial windfall and decides to indulge his passion. He buys an electric guitar and his mood is instantly lifted. But will his other struggles mean he’s forced to make a tough decision?
