A Fully Guided Tour of the Pirates Exhibition at the Greenwich Maritime Museum in London

In this video, Jessica the Museum Guide (that’s me!) takes you on a guided tour of the Pirates: Fact or Fiction Exhibition at the National Maritime Museum in Greenwich, London.

This exhibition started March 29, 2025 and is running until January 4th 2026, so you still have time to visit – and I really recommend it. I have to say, there is nothing quite like pirates to bring out a sense of childlike wonder in a lot of us – I was surprised at how nostalgic part of this exhibition made me feel!

The Exhibition starts with Pirates in pop culture – often portrayed as swashbuckling rogues and children’s characters – but the second part of the exhibition explores the realities – sometimes grim – of actual pirate lore and daily life, all around the world.

It finishes with a reminder that piracy is not just a thing of the past.
