Ben Affleck has gotten a lot of flak for his performances in films; Armageddon, Reindeer Games, Daredevil, god forbid we speak the name, Gigli, and now Bruce Wayne in DCEU and Zack Snyder’s Batman V Superman and Justice League, but I bet you’ve forgotten about some of the roles where Affleck has shined on the screen.

Before we dive in, hear us out. Affleck is under-appreciated. You can’t deny that he’s become an award-winning filmmaker, with movies like Good Will Hunting, Gone Baby Gone, The Town and the Oscar Winning Film Argo, but it’s his performances over the past three decades that should remind critics and audiences that Ben Affleck is undoubtedly a great actor. His ability to portray forlorn and damaged characters seeking redemption, is why he was perfect for Bruce Wayne, and I personally blame the producers and directors for the films that left fans disappointed. Like most actors, Affleck has acted in stinkers, but there has always been great work.
