The E-Class is Mercedes bread and butter. No wonder this is their biggest seller, because of the all-round very refined vehicle it is; Premium transport for the executive and on the other hand, a practical very roomy family car!
This car was made for the Autobahn. It will cruise at 200 km/h without any stress for either car or driver.

The OM654 diesel engine is one of the most advanced in the world today.
It offer’s an all aluminum, first of its kind, construction with Nanoslide cylinder walls.
It also features single stage variable turbine geometry water cooled turbocharger.

On paper the numbers may not be impressive compared to the last generation engines (OM651), but the character of the engine is that it’s more willing to rev up, feels more like a gas engine, but with the low end torque pulling power and fuel economy of a diesel, which is at least 20% better than the OM651. The downside is the sound of the engine; more industrial or tractor like on the outside, but inside the car it's hardly noticeable at normal driving and is extremely low revving;
