Outlander | Jamie & Claire | Come What May | Season 1 - 7

This week the song "Come What May" from the movie Moulin Rouge is the theme for my Outlander video. I used the wonderful version by Mateo Oxley & Beth🙏🏼🩷. I have to confess that I haven't seen the movie - should I catch up? Any opinions? But even without knowing the movie, or perhaps precisely because of it, I think Jamie & Claire embody the song incredibly well. "Come what may I will love you until my dying day" - how often have they proven to us that this is true. That, come what may, they will stand by each other and stand up for each other, that nothing will ever come between them, that nothing and no one will ever change their love.
I particularly love to use duets for my videos, as they usually allow me to tell both perspectives and, if necessary, easily switch between them or combine them. And so I tell the first verse from Jamie's pov. I show the beginnings of their relationship, the feelings Claire triggered in Jamie and how they inexorably found their way to each other. How he won Claire's heart despite (or because of) all the obstacles, no matter what, because it was their destiny to be together.
The second verse is told from Claire's pov. It's about how she fell more and more for Jamie and was finally prepared to risk everything for him, just as he had done for her. In the chorus I depict the 'come what may', all the obstacles and strokes of fate that the two of them had to overcome. Therefore I'm working my way through all the seasons. And just as I started the video with Jamie's realization that he's never felt anything like he did on his wedding night, physically and emotionally, I end the video with Claire's realization of how she feels about Jamie and her decision to stay with him, with the love of her life.
