Tyr Wiesner-Hanks, former Cornell graduate student when this work was conducted, currently a Discovery Breeder at PepsiCo discusses his study to demonstrate a proof‐of‐concept for an automated phenotyping system that combines the deep learning approach with UAV‐based imagery to accurately identify maize disease symptoms.
