We hit the water off the coast of La Jolla, California, hoping to lock in on yellowtail as part of our USAngling Team California practice session. The day started calm and full of promise—but Mother Nature had other plans. As the wind kicked up and the chop got rough, the yellowtail never showed. Luckily, the calico bass were fired up and saved the trip! Still a solid day of practice, testing gear and grit for the upcoming National Championship.
